Coach Park Has to Personally Convince an Overage Player to Kick Off the 31st SEA Games

He made an extensive list of potential players including Que Ngoc Hai, Van Toan, Hung Dung, Van Thanh, and  Trong Hoang. However, following an open discussion and meticulous consideration, the 63-year-old football coach decided to present the names of Trong Hoang (born in 1988) and Hung Dung (born in 1993).

The decision of Coach Park to choose Trong Hoang and Hung Dung in the opening of the 30th SEA Games turned out to be a right decision. This move is an indicator of the incredible skills and decisiveness of Coach Park Hang Seo when it comes to choosing the best for his team.

Trong Hoang, played a very important role in aiding the Vietnam’s U23 team to claim the first gold medal of the men’s football team after the long spell of 60 years of trying. Meanwhile, Hung Dung wore the captain’s armband, and Trong Hoang stood out in the team.

Right now, there are only two months left before the 31st SEA Games resumes again and kick off this year’s season. Currently, Coach Park is in the process of finalizing his roster of players over 23 years old that he will include in the U23 Vietnam team. This time, the Korean football coach will have to choose three people, which opens more options for positions in the squad.

Three contenders

It was reported that Coach Park is collaborating with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) about his decision. Coach Park Hang Seo is assumed to include two midfielders on the team which consists of Quang Hai and Hung Dung. As for the striker position, Tien Linh (Hai and Linh were the same age) is also being considered to be included in the U23 Vietnam.

Right now, the experts are fixating on the list that includes Quang Hai, Hung Dung, and Tien Linh to be chosen by Coach Park to lead the 31st SEA Games. 

However, there are many options available to be included in the team when it comes to skills and talents. Clearly, the strikers and midfielders of U23 Vietnam are deficient when it comes to the right star qualities that will ensure the scoring of goals and to lead the match.

As for now, the defense of the team is still somewhat strong having the likes of Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Le Van Xuan, and Nguyen Thanh Binh.
