Are you capable of defeating the Grafted Scion in Elden Ring’s boss fight? Given that the Grafted Scion is a powerful horror that, at first glance, appears to be something that you wouldn’t stand a chance against, the question is reasonable to ask. This is especially true when taking into account the fact that those who are killed do not get respawned back for a second chance. But Elden Ring will only rarely put you up against a challenge that you can’t technically overcome, so we’ll get right to the heart of this question, which is whether or not it is possible to overcome the Grafted Scion in Elden Ring, how this might be accomplished, and whether or not there are any additional rewards for doing so. Continue reading to discover the answer to the following question: Is it possible to win the Elden Ring items against the Grafted Scion in Elden Ring?
Are you capable of defeating the boss of the Elden Ring Grafted Scion?
The Grafted Scion boss in Elden Ring can be defeated, but it won’t be easy for you to do so, and the game assumes that you won’t succeed most of the time. The first thirty minutes of the game consist primarily of following the instructions that are given to you, up to and including engaging in combat with the Scion. So after the opening cutscenes, you’ll find yourself in the Chapel of Anticipation, which you won’t be able to leave until you retrieve the Wizened Finger of the Tarnished from a body in the vicinity.
When you have it and are able to leave the chapel, you can cross a bridge and head through an archway to get to the statue, but the Grafted Scion will attack you as you get closer to it.
It is possible to defeat this starter boss, as was mentioned, and as is the case in most games developed by FromSoftware; for example, the Vanguard demon in Demon’s Souls or the werewolf you meet in Bloodborne; however, this individual is designed to kill you so that you can progress to the next section of the game. You will not be able to leave the area without losing your life if you attempt to do so. Therefore, the best course of action is to simply let it happen so that you can continue with the remainder of Elden Ring. You will later learn that the Grafted Scion is a fairly common enemy throughout the world, which means that you will have the opportunity to exact revenge on them.
In spite of this, it is possible to prevail over the Grafted Scion that guards Elden Ring if you set your mind to it and put in the effort. You’ll just have to be on the lookout for a lot of sweeping attacks that cover a lot of angles and make it difficult to get in close to your opponent. You’ll also need to be prepared for an attack called a Scream, which doesn’t give much of a wind-up or warning and can’t be blocked. Ranged attacks and spells are actually a little more viable here, rolling out of the sword’s range while you chip away at this horror’s health. This won’t really help you if you chose a melee class or a vagabond, but it will if you went with a ranged attack or spell.
In the event that you were unsuccessful the first time around, you are free to revisit the Grafted Scion at a later point in the game whenever you like. What you need to do is travel to Western Liurnia, which is the region beyond Stormveil Castle. On the coast to the west of Raya Lucaria Academy, you will find a raised area that is known as the Four Belfries. This area was given its name for the simple reason that it contains four bell towers. There is a portal in three of them, and each one provides a cryptic explanation of where it will take you. However, in order to activate the portal itself, you will need a unique consumable key known as an Imbued Sword Key. Keep in mind that there are only three Imbued Sword Keys throughout the entirety of the game, so it may take you some time to find them… except for the fact that the top Belfry has a chest with one inside of it, instead of a portal!
Once you have the Sword Key in your possession, proceed to the second Belfry, which bears the inscription “Precipice of Anticipation.”If you activate the Portal, it will transport you back to the Chapel of Anticipation, but this time you will be facing the Grafted Scion from a different vantage point.
A word of caution before you go through the portal: when you come out on the other side, there will be a cliff behind you that contains an item. Don’t get too close to it! When you step on the cliff, it gives way beneath your feet, crushing you to death. In either case, it is impossible to acquire the PC Elden Ring Runes for sale, so all that remains is to cross the bridge to the golden fog door and engage in combat with the Scion once more.
Even if you are successful in defeating the Grafted Scion in Elden Ring, the only rewards you will receive are a Greatshield and a paired set of Straight Swords, neither of which you will be able to use for a considerable amount of time or until you have gained sufficient experience levels. You will eventually have to give up and die in order to continue playing the rest of the game.
